I traveled to Jeju from Seoul from 5/4/2025 to 5/8/25. It was an amazing experience and very gorgeous. I recommend it to anyone who wants a break from how crazy busy Seoul is. Jeju is similar but not the same as Hawaii, which makes sense as it is called the Hawaii of South Korea.
In Jeju, I got around by taking the bus and Ubering. The bus system here is unreliable, so be careful when traveling here. Many of the routes the Navier map showed me would be closed in reality. They have a screen at bus stops that shows when and which buses arrive at the bus stop where you are currently. It is vital to check this screen.
I spent my first night in Jeju at the international airport. In that area, I explored Black Pork Street, where I ate excellent grilled pork. I recommend that you visit Black Pork Street and go to this restaurant, by the name of 대 돈 제주본점. The server was very nice and super helpful. She was super friendly and helped my friend and me grill the pork. In the area nearby is the Dongmun traditional market, a fun little market you can explore. I enjoyed getting small snacks from the street stalls.

On my second day in Jeju, 5/6/25, I went down one side of the island and saw the Ollusc Tea Museum and the Spirited Garden before spending a night in Seogwipo. I enjoyed visiting the Spirited Garden; it was very calming and beautiful. The Ollusc Tea Museum is more like a cafe than a tea museum. So, fair warning before you visit, you won’t learn much, but the food and drinks were quite delicious!
I recommend anyone visiting Jeju stay in the Seogwipo area, as there are plenty of things to do and see. I stayed two nights there from 5/6/25 to 5/7/25 to give myself time to explore the surrounding areas. I spent much time in Seogwipo Maeil Olle Market, eating fantastic food and getting souvenirs for friends and family.
On my third day in Jeju, 4/8/25, I saw the Haenyeo Women Diver Show at Seongsan Ilchulbong. I highly recommend seeing the show and learning more about them. I also ate good, fresh seafood at the restaurant down there.
