I am studying abroad for the spring semester of 2025 in South Korea at Ewha Women's University. I recommend that anyone coming to South Korea during the spring semester pack and prepare warm clothes. It's super cold during February and early March. I was not prepared at all, having grown up in Hawaii. I lacked terribly in the clothes department, only owning one pair of long pants, and was unprepared for how many layers you need to feel warm, even the slightest bit. It was so bad I had to steal my mom's clothes so don't be like me and bring warm clothes. Since landing, I have worn many layers, such as long-sleeved and short-sleeved shirts stacked on each other, two layers of pants, a thermal and jeans, and two different puffer jackets.

I arrived in South Korea a bit late on 2/22/25 compared to others who came earlier for Ewha, as the official check-in day for the dorm was 2/21/25. Ewha had an orientation on the 25th, and registration was on the 26th. Course registration differs slightly from how it is done at UH Manoa. For one, at Ewha, you need to search for the class and course numbers. It's not like UH Manoa, where you can click on the course to get the specific class you want, which can be nerve-racking. I made a list of the courses and the class numbers months in advance due to fear, and it saved me as I could get all the classes I wanted and needed.

It snowed my second week in South Korea
